Ontario PNP Draw
The Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP) draw is a regular selection process where the Ontario PNP chooses eligible candidates from the Express Entry pool to apply for provincial nomination for permanent residency in Ontario, Canada.
In an Ontario PNP draw, candidates who have submitted an Express Entry and have met the eligibility criteria for one of Ontario's immigration streams, including the Human Capital Priorities Stream, the French-Speaking Skilled Worker Stream, may receive an invitation to apply for provincial nomination.
The Ontario PNP draw typically takes place once every month, and the number of invitations and the minimum required Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score may vary based on Ontario's labor market needs and other factors. The candidates who receive an Notification of Interest (NOI) to apply have 45 days to submit a complete application for provincial nomination.
PNP Ontario
The Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP) is an immigration program through which the government of Ontario nominates foreign workers, international students, and entrepreneurs for permanent residency in Ontario, Canada.
The OINP has several streams that target specific groups of candidates with different eligibility requirements, including the Human Capital Priorities Stream, the French-Speaking Skilled Worker Stream, the Skilled Trades Stream, the Employer Job Offer Category, the Entrepreneur Stream, and the Corporate Stream.
To apply for OINP, candidates need to first submit an Expression of Interest (EOI) and meet the eligibility criteria of one of the OINP streams. The candidates who meet the eligibility criteria and have a competitive Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score may receive an invitation to apply for provincial nomination in one of the OINP draws.
If a candidate is successfully nominated by the OINP, they can then apply for permanent residency to the Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC). It is important to note that nomination by the OINP does not guarantee permanent residency as the final decision is made by IRCC.
Ontario PNP Points Calculator
The minimum points required for the Ontario PNP varies depending on the stream and the current needs of the province. Each Ontario PNP stream has its own points system and eligibility requirements.
For example, the Human Capital Priorities Stream requires candidates to have a minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score determined by the OINP. In the past, the minimum CRS score required has ranged from 400 to 470 points. However, the actual minimum score can change depending on the needs of the province and the number of applications received.
You can calculate your Ontario PNP CRS by using Ontario PNP points calculator here
Similarly, the French-Speaking Skilled Worker Stream and the Skilled Trades Stream have their own points systems based on factors such as language proficiency, work experience, and education. The Employer Job Offer Stream also has its own points system based on similar factors.
It's important to note that meeting the minimum points requirement does not guarantee selection for nomination by the OINP. The OINP also considers other factors such as the current needs of the province and the specific requirements of each stream.
To determine if you are eligible for OINP, you can consult with our licensed Ontario Canada immigration consultants on 750-383-2132 and review the eligibility criteria for each stream. There are several streams of immigration managed by the federal government's Express Entry System. The province of Ontario requires applicants applying to one of its Express Entry streams to receive a notice of interest and have an up-to-date profile in the federal government's Express Entry system, including your most recent work experience, language proficiency, and educational background.
For workers with relevant experience, education, and language proficiency in English or French, the Human Capital Priorities stream is for them. For workers with relevant work experience, education, and language proficiency in English and French, the Skilled Trades stream is for them.
Although Job offer isn’t a requirement for Ontario PNP but having one makes the entire process relatively easy and people immigrating without a job offer must meet the criteria set up by the authorities.
The current processing time for Ontario PNP is two to three months.
To be considered in the province of Ontario it is not at all mandatory to have a Job Offer rather you must have a current Express Entry profile and meet Ontario's standards, which include having work experience in specified vocations or sectors.
