3) English language proficiency:

You must demonstrate a high level of proficiency in the English language. This can be done by passing an English language test such as the International English Language Testing System (IELTS). This is the most crucial requirement for Australian permanent residency. The minimum IELTS score required for Australia PR is 6 bands in each module.

Please note that the required scores may vary depending on the visa subclass and the specific points-tested skilled migration program you are applying for. The minimum English language score requires six bands in each, or an equivalent PTE score is required under General skilled migration; however, you can not claim points with six bands.

  •  Skilled Independent visa (subclass 189),
  •  Skilled Nominated visa (subclass 190) and
  •  Skilled Work Regional (Provisional) visa (subclass 491) Australia.
