Labour disruptions impact at Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada IRCC operation.
IRCC update, 159,000 citizenship immigration Canada employees will be on Strike for overpay hike. Canada is committed to negotiating collective agreements that are fair for employees and reasonable for Canadian taxpayers and Shareholders.
The union president Chris Aylward said. Union began a strike on Wednesday, April 19, 2023, after failing to reach a wage deal with the federal government by a Tuesday deadline, which has been in collective bargaining for a new contract since 2021.
As a result IRCC operation especially processing time will be affected. but unfortunately following Services were partially or fully disrupted during the strike
- Application processing time
- In-person appointments
- Response on email, phone, or social media
- Passport services in Canada
