The INZ Low Tuberculosis Incidence List Will Be Expanded To Include 85 Nations.

Immigration New Zealand (INZ) has added 85 nations to its list of countries with low tuberculosis (TB) incidence. Samoa, Tonga, and Vanuatu are among the countries that have been added because they now match the conditions.

This implies that visa applicants from the countries on this list will be able to consult the INZ news for countries with a low incidence of tuberculosis to see if a chest x-ray is still required, based on their previous circumstances and length of stay in New Zealand.

This will have a significant positive impact, notably on Tonga, Samoa, and Vanuatu, who now fit the criteria for inclusion on the list due to their low TB rates. This is fantastic news for workers from these countries applying for the Recognised Seasonal Employer (RSE) scheme, since they will no longer be needed to submit a chest x-ray with their RSE applications.

Dominica and Libya will also be removed from the list since their TB incidence rates have now surpassed the low incidence criterion, according to the most recent data.

Countries with a low TB prevalence

If you've lived in a country with a high rate of tuberculosis, you should get a chest x-ray (TB).

When a chest x-ray is required

If you are applying for a visa to visit New Zealand for 6 months or more, you must have a chest x-ray if you are a citizen of a nation that is not on this list, or

If you are a citizen of a country that is not on this list

You've spent more than 3 months in a country that isn't on this list in the last 5 years.

You may not need a chest x-ray if you are a citizen of a nation that is not on this list but can verify you have never resided in or spent time in that country.
