The New Australia Immigration Law says that “English Test is required for Partner Visas”

On October 8, 2020, a new Australia immigration law was passed, which says that Australia now requires partners of existing residents to prove their English language proficiency prior to applying for an Australia Partner Visa. Now, the Australian Government wants the partner of Australia’s PR or Citizen to meet at least the functional level of English or need to exert at least some effort to learn English.

Building “Social Cohesion” was the main idea behind the introduction of this law by the Australian Government. So, if you want to invite your partner to live with you permanently in Australia, your partner needs to prove proficiency in English Language. Also, your partner can take 500 hours of English language that are available by the Australian government under a free government program.

So, if you wish to apply under the Australia Partner Visa, just make sure you prove your proficiency in English language so that you don’t face any hurdle at a later stage.
