BC PNP has done modifications to the requirements and in-demand occupation list
Tech Pilot was introduced in last August to help British Columbia’s tech sector to attract the foreign skilled workers in 32-in demand occupations through weekly draws from the British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program (BC PNP)’s pool of immigration candidates.
The update was issued on June 26, 2018 where the BC PNP announced to extend the tech pilot until June 2019 and reduction in in-demand occupations from 32 to 29 as well. Additionally, the duration of job-offer, from a permanent full-time offer to a full-time offer of at least one year (365 days) is also updated.
The last change is done on the basis of feedback taken from tech companies, such as animation and digital effect sector that awards jobs on a project-to-project basis, for a specific duration of time, as quoted by BC PNP.
The removal of three occupations from the in-demand list is also based on the feedback from tech sector employers, the BC PNP said.

The extension of Tech Pilot till June 2019 will provide employers a stability to allow them to think and plan about their future staffing needs.
