More invitations have been issued by Ontario through its Express Entry-linked Skilled Trades and French-Speaking Skilled Worker Streams. The latest invitation round was conducted on May 23 and May 24, where 64 total number of Notifications of Interest (NOI’s) were issued to eligible Express Entry candidates.
Ontario is continuing its 7 week trend of inviting applicants through these streams since the second week of April.
The OINP (Ontario Nominee Program) invited 30 Express Entry candidates through Skilled Trades Stream who submitted their profiles between January 1, 2018, and May 23, 2018.
34 applicants were invited through the French Speaking Skilled Worker Stream who submitted their profiles between January 1, 2018 and May 24, 2018.
Ontario does not need any minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score requirement for either of these streams and Express Entry applicants are directly nominated by Ontario to receive an additional 600 points towards their CRS score.
Since January, 2018 Ontario has issued 727 NOIs through the Skilled Trade Stream and another 502 NOIs have been issued under French Speaking Skilled Worker Stream.
Other 2857 NOIs have been issued through Human Capital Priorities Stream.
The OINP says that it will continue to issue the invitations on a regular basis to the potential applicants who are eligible to apply through Ontario’s Express Entry streams.
The Skilled Trades Stream is for skilled workers who has an Express Entry profile and are eligible for the Canadian Experience Class and have work experience in an eligible skilled trade.
The French Speaking Skilled Worker Stream was launched in 2015 to target French-Speaking Express Entry candidates. The applicants under this stream must have sufficient English language abilities say CLB 6 or more and other eligibility requirement must also meet.
The applicants who have received NOIs have 45 days from the issuing date to submit an online application to the OINP.
