No admissionability in Alberta Opportunity Stream till January 2, 2018

In the wake of latest changes in Alberta Opportunity Stream, applications will not be accepted under the program till January 2, 2018. The Occupation list of the province has undergone a change. If your current job profile is not mentioned in the latest Occupation list of Alberta, then you are not eligible to apply under the Alberta Opportunity stream.

The selection criteria on which Alberta opportunity stream was working up till now, has also undergone changes.

Occupation requirements-

At the time AINP accesses your application, you must be working in an occupation mentioned in the latest occupation list of Alberta.

Residency status and work permit requirement

At the time AINP accesses your application,

  • You must hold a valid temporary residence status in Canada
  • You must hold a valid work permit for an eligible occupation based on a positive LMIA

Language Requirement

At the time AINP accesses your application, your language proficiency score must be CLB 5 or above (CLB 7 in case of NOC code 3413) in either English or French. Earlier, the minimum point requirement used to be CLB 4

Educational requirement

At the time AINP accesses your application, your minimum educational qualification must be verified by ECA (Educational Credential Assessment) and it should be at par with Canadian level of qualification.

Work experience requirement

At the time AINP accesses your application, your current job profile must be among the eligible occupations in the Alberta Occupation List. Also, your past work experience must not be less than 12 months.

Funds requirement

At the time AINP accesses your application, the minimum funds requirement as demand by Alberta must be met. The fund requirement varies with every additional ‘Family unit’.

With the above mentioned section criteria being met, the candidate can take forward the Alberta immigration process. Note that no application will be considered before January 2, 2018 and the mentioned information is for the reference purpose only.
