More chances for pro-rata occupations invitations in 2018-19

The department of Home Affairs has confirmed that pro-rata occupations will get approximately 60% of the total program over the year 2018/19 program.

There has been no change in the programs for this current year and are same as last year. A minimum expectation of close to 15,600 invites can be expected. This means:

  • 9360 invitations for Pro Rata occupations
  • 6240 invitations for Non Pro Rata occupations

The above invitations are in lieu of average 1300 invitations per round

The Department of Home Affairs has also issued more than usual number of Expression of Interests in July (1010) and is anticipated that same amount of invitations can be expected in August round as well.

As DoHA mentioned that they will be inviting 60% applications under pro-rata occupations for the current immigration year. This also means that very soon DoHA will have to change their settings of inviting 180 out of 100 Pro Rata occupations per round. This can be expected most probably in the next two rounds.

This means good news for applicants under pro rata occupations is in the pipeline!

More than 1000 engineers are required in Australia
