Latest updates for new subclass 491 and 494 Australian Skilled Regional Visa

The Australian Immigration Department is continuously bringing new updates to its soon to be released Australia Skilled Regional Visa. The department has announced more details related to implementation dates and transitional arrangements regarding the new visa subclass 491 and 494 visa.

The Subclass 489 Provisional Visa will send invitations to apply till 10th September 2019 and the last date to submit a visa application following the invite would be 15th November 2019. The applicants can submit Subclass 187 RSMS nominations till 15th November.

Any RSMS nominations that have not been finalized by 16 November 2019 will be withdrawn automatically. Only those nomination applications whose corresponding visa applications have been submitted would only be considered.

However, there will be no changes to the Subclass 186 Employer Nomination scheme.

The Immigration Department will also release the list of postcodes to help applicants determine if their area comes under regional migration or not.

Australia Skilled Immigration Offers Extra Points For PR Applicants

Skilled Work Regional Provisional Visa Subclass 491 Visa:

This visa subclass will begin accepting applicants to submit an EOI from 16 November 2019. The subclass 491 will replace the existing the subclass 489.

Skilled Employer Sponsored Regional Provisional Visa Subclass 494:

The visa subclass 494 will allow businesses in Australia to nominate employees from 16th November onwards. However, these nomination applications should include evidence of Labour Market Testing. The potential applicants must be under 45 years of age and have a positive skill assessment report for applying visa subclass 494.

Route to Australia Permanent Residency Visa

The new Subclass 491 and 494 visa holders must reside in the regional area of Australia for at least 3 years to become eligible for Australia Permanent Resident Visa subclass 191. The applicants will also need to provide the evidence of earning a minimum taxable income in these 3 years.
