The most important update for Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP) is its 2018 nomination allocation of 6,600 successful applicants across all streams.
Therefore, new applications and already submitted application to the OINP will be continued to get accepted but will be considered under the OINP’s 2019 nomination allocation, barring Masters Graduate Stream.
The Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program is operated by the Ontario Government in partnership with the federal government through Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC). The province of Ontario invites skilled and qualified workers to come and settle in the province on permanent basis. The applicants applying for OINP can apply through IRCC. The final decision is made by IRCC on each application that is final and abiding.
Henceforth, this means that the Ontario Government will continue to accept applications for this year but will not issue any notification of interest till December 2018 because of migration ceiling for Ontario. This year migration intake for Ontario has been filled sooner than expected. Hence, closure of applications invitation for 2018.
New Draw Conducted For OINP French Speaking Skilled Worker Stream
The latest invitation round was conducted by Ontario Government on 9th Number 2018 where a total of 49 Notification of Interest (NOI) were issued to the migrants under French Speaking Skilled Worker Stream.
The selected candidates submitted their profile on January 1, 2018 to November 9, 2018 before 8:56 AM EST.
Ontario does not need any minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score requirement for either of these streams and Express Entry applicants are directly nominated by Ontario to receive an additional 600 points towards their CRS score.
Thus, you may still apply for OINP but your profile will only be considered in January, 2019.
