Canada Re-Opens Parents and Grandparents Sponsor Programs

For those Permanent Residents in Canada who are looking to sponsor their Parents and Grandparents, can now do. On January 2nd, IRCC has re-opened the programs to sponsor parents and grandparents.

The sponsorship form will be available by 12 pm, 1st of February, 2018.

To be able to sponsor parents and grandparents, a Permanent Resident must be older than 18 years of age.

All the PR holders looking forward to sponsor parents and grandparents are asked to first confirm if they are eligible to apply for the sponsorship or not. Apart from eligibility criteria, there are some income requirements as well. The interested Permanent resident must declare that they are meeting the Minimum Necessary Income (MNI) to support those they are willing to sponsor.

MNI is applicable to all other than residents of Quebec. Quebec is having its own MNI requirements.
