Canada Planning to Spend $440 Million to Welcome Immigrants Over Next 3 Years

Ahmed Hussen, immigration minister of Canada has recently committed to spend a sum of $440 million to ensure success of multi-year immigration plan. Hussen made this announcement on Thursday in front of Parliament’s standing committee on Citizenship and Immigration.

Last November, Canada made an astonishing statement that they will be welcoming about 1 million new immigrants by the year 2020 under their multi-year immigration plan.

Following this statement there is a gradual increase in the application made for immigration. Hussen said that this increase is the maximum in last 40 years. “The number of skilled immigrants we select through our Express Entry system will grow over this time frame, which will mean more highly skilled talent for our labour market,” he further adds.

The federal program Express Entry is currently managed through three classes namely- Federal Skilled Worker Program, Federal Skilled Trade Program and Canadian Experience Class.
