canada added 11 new communities under rural and northern immigration pilot

The Canadian Government has selected 11 communities to take part in its new Rural and Northern Immigration Pilot. This pilot is designed to help smaller rural and remote communities to attract foreign workers of skill levels and provide them with permanent residence.

The Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) provided Canada’s rural communities data that says over four million Canadians account for almost 30 percent of the national GDP. The pilot’s goal is to help these communities counter labour market shortages caused by declining birth rates, rising retirement rate and the out-migration of youth to more populated areas of Canada.

The 11 regional communities are located in Ontario, Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Alberta, and British Columbia

However, the eligibility requirements for applying through the communities will be available later in 2019.
