The province of British Columbia invited 351 applicants to apply for a provincial nomination to skill immigration and Express Entry BC candidates on October 3, 2018
The candidates with minimum scores of 65 to 91 points were invited to apply for British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program (BCPNP). The points are allotted depending upon the program category. The points are assigned when candidates register through the BC PNP’s Skills Immigration Registration System (SIRS) and are awarded on the factors like age, educational qualification, work experience, language factors and adaptability.
Under SIRS, the maximum of 200 points are given to candidates for British Columbia nomination.
The recent British Columbia draw invited candidates under following categories:
The invitation score for past many British Columbia draws has been constant except for Express Entry British Columbia Skilled Worker stream where applicants are invited with 82 points as opposed to 84 points in the previous draws.
The selected candidates are given additional 600 Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score towards overall CRS points for Canada PR. This boosts their nomination chances for Canada PR in subsequent Express Entry draws.
The other candidates under skills Immigration stream who have obtained British Columbia provincial nomination will have their Canadian permanent residence application processed outside from Express Entry through Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada.
