Tech-only candidates invited in British Columbia PNP immigration draw. British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program (BCPNP) declared its immigration draw on July 26th inviting tech-only immigrants for the permanent residency visa. In May, British Columbia innovated an initiative in which the draw for tech and non-tech immigrants have been issued ITAs in separate draws.
The province nominated 357 candidates for immigration by issuing an Invitation to Apply (ITA) to the selected candidates.
The candidates who may find themselves eligible for any stream for BC PNP can apply for their PR visa and enter the Skills Immigration Registration System (SIRS) pool in which they would be ranked according to their point. The highest scoring candidates will be given a priority while receiving a nomination certificate.
There are five categories that are opened in this draw and the candidates can apply under these categories as per their eligibility. Candidates who would apply for BC PNP Express Entry will be awarded an addition of 600 CRS (Comprehensive Ranking System) to receive an ITA for Permanent resident visa for British Columbia, Canada.
The five categories that are opened in this draw are:
Minimum points required- 80
This category for those candidates who graduated as a foreign student from a Canadian University in the past two years. This category is aligned with the federal Express Entry and it is not mandatory to graduate from a college of British Columbia, any Canadian University will be applicable.
3.Skills Immigration – Skilled Worker
Minimum points required- 85
This category is suitable for those candidates who have a post-graduate education along with work experience in a skilled related occupation. It is mandatory to have a job offer from a Canadian employer to be eligible under this category.
Minimum points required- 80
This category invites those foreign graduates from a Canadian university in the past two years. There is no need for a work experience to be eligible in this category but it is mandatory to have a job offer letter from a Canadian employer in British Columbia.
Minimum points required- 45
This category is for such candidates who may find themselves ineligible for other categories as no skilled requirement is needed under this category. A work experience in tourism, long haul truck services, food processing or in an NOC level of skill C or D from the occupation list.
