Australia’s Occupational Ceiling Announced for 2018-19

The new occupational ceiling has been announced for the year 208-19 for Australia permanent residency visas. The quota for high demanding occupations has been decided for the current year. The potential applicants were expecting that the high occupations quota will increase for this year but the list remains unchanged.

Australia Occupation Ceiling 2018-19

Australia’s Department of Home Affairs has now declared the occupational ceilings for various high demand occupations across the states and territories in Australia for the year 2018-19. The list mentions those occupations are widely required in Australia.

The potential applicants who are willing to apply for Australia PR can see the occupation ceiling of various occupations listed in the list and know the number of available positions in the particular occupation.

However, there has been no change in the overall cap limit and kept same that is 190,000 for 2018-19 as well. The total program segregation for the following streams are as follows:

  • Skill- for Skilled Migration visas, the number of allotted quota is 128, 550 for the year 2018-19
  • Family- this stream includes visa programs like Partner, grandparents, child etc. this year 57400 places have been allotted under family stream.
  • Special Eligibility- this stream includes visa categories that are not included in any of the streams. This stream is used for special circumstances and only 565 allocations have been allotted for 2018-19
  • The number of places allotted for children is 2485 for the current year
