Australia visa subclass 491 Skilled Worker Regional Provisional Visa will commence on 16 November 2019 and the Immigration department preparations are on full-swing to invite skilled and qualified workers to the regional area of Australia for the specific time period. This visa subclass 491 will replace the existing skilled regional provisional subclass 489.
The Department of Home Affairs has decided to allocate 16,000 places annually across 500 different occupations.
The visa 491 will be a point tested visa program just like any other skilled migration programs where the highest ranking applicant whose occupation is in-demand will be invited to apply for Australia Permanent Resident Visa. Visa 491 will be granted for initially 5 years and must agree to live and work for 3 years in regional areas to get permanent residence visa subclass 191.
491 visa allows you to change the regional areas and occupations but does not allow you to move to the state/territories. However, the applicant cannot apply for any other skilled PR program for the next 3 years.
By regional areas, the Australian immigration department means all areas of Australia except Sydney, Melbourne, Perth, Brisbane, and Gold Coast.
The Department of Home Affairs has announced their application fees for the main applicant, spouse and dependent children which are $4045, $2025 and $1010 respectively.
The immigration department has also announced the onshore student graduates fee which is $3700 +GST and less $400 if skill assessment is already done.
Australia invites potential migrants to come and settle in the country on permanent basis by applying through different visa programs.
