British Columbia Points System

For making the selection process for British Columbia easier and transparent the government of British Columbia introduced a new scoring system in January 2016 known as Skilled Immigration Registration System (SIRS). The SIRS system determines the score of a candidate to verify whether they can be invited for British Columbia or not...

British Columbia Skilled Immigration Registration System (SIRS)

For applying under BC PNP, the provinces has offered 3 ways for obtaining the permanent residency in British Columbia. Every way among the three categories have different categories under which one can apply. It will depend on you NOC skill level, type of profession, or international student. However, for applying BC PNP you may not require work experience in some categories.

How SIRS Works?

A candidate is required to have a full-time employment from a British Columbia employer who is ready to support you in B.C. throughout the entire process of BC PNP process. (Job offer letter is not required if you have a graduate degree from one of the B.C. universities).

After submitting the application a candidate will receive a number of score as per his/her credentials through SIRS. Then the profile of the candidate will be entered in the pool of candidates with other candidates, only high scored candidates will be selected for nomination certificate letter for applying for Canada Permanent Residency status in Canada to Citizenship and Immigration Canada. The application under SIRS will remain in pool for 1 year (12 Months) only like Express Entry CRS, after expiration of an application you are required to create a new one.

British Columbia periodically invites highly scored candidate from each category to apply for provincial nomination. Apply for British Columbia PNP
