Second Express Entry Draw 2019 Records CRS Score Drops!

The Government of Canada has conducted the second Express Entry draw of 2019 on January 23 and this time too Immigration Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) have invited 3,900 candidates to apply for Canadian Permanent Residence. The applicants with the ranking score of 443 were given ITAs in this current draw, representing the lowest CRS threshold of the year.

A tie-break rule was applied for the January 23 draw meaning that applicants with 443 CRS points and above having their Express Entry profile in the pool before January 2, 2019 at 03:55:26 UTC were given ITAs in this draw.

Up till now, Canada has now issued 7,800 invitations to candidates in the federal Express Entry system since the start of 2019. The Federal High Skilled Immigration Categories are managed under The Federal Skilled Worker Program, Federal Skilled Trade Program and The Canadian Experience Class.

The current draw of Express Entry saw the CRS points lower than the minimum score in the first draw of 2019 that took place on January 10. The fall in CRS score can be explained by the fact those only two weeks undergone between these two invitation rounds.

The regular draw size of 3900 ITAs if remain constant might affect the minimum score if the draws are conducted on a regular basis.

The applicants applying for Canadian Permanent Residence through Federal Skilled Category are ranked according to the various factors namely age, educational qualification, work experience, language ability and adaptability factors. The highest ranking applicants are then given an invitation to apply by the Canadian Government through regular CIC draws.
