This is to inform that province of Prince Edward Island has invited 199 economic immigration applicants to apply for a provincial nomination for permanent residence in a recent draw conducted on February 21, 2019.
A total of 170 candidates were invited through Prince Edward Island (PEI)’s Express Entry and Labour Impact categories in this current draw. Though, PEI’s provincial nominee program, the PEI PNP did not disclose how many Express Entry candidates were invited to apply.
Another 29 candidates with lowest ranking score 117 were invited through PEI’s Business Impact Work Permit Stream The total number of invitations in this draw doubled the previous numbers of invitations that invited 91 applicants. The Prince Edward Island province welcomes candidates in the federal express entry pool with no job offer in the province. Though, those living and working in the prince were prioritized in this draw.
The Prince Edward Island PNP is a part of the Provincial Nominee Program that allows applicants to come and settle on a permanent basis.
The PEI PNP has an Express Entry category that is aligned with the Federal Express Entry System that manages the applicants under three main economic immigration categories- the Federal Skilled Worker Program, Federal Skilled Trade Program, and Canadian Experience Class.
Candidates under Express Entry who want to apply for provincial nomination through PEI must first complete a separate Expression of Interest (EOI) profile with the PEI PNP.
The profiles are ranked on the basis of factors such as education, work experience, proficiency in English or French and other factors are invited to apply for a provincial nomination through monthly draws.
The successful applicants who obtain a provincial nomination are awarded an additional 600 points towards their overall ranking score.
The other PEI PNP stream- Labour Impact Category is not aligned with the Express Entry system and is divided into three EOI-based streams namely Skilled Workers (in PEI and outside Canada), International Graduates and critical workers.
The applicants applying in this stream must be working in Prince Edward Island or have an eligible full-time, long-term job offer from an employer in the province among other criteria.
