In the latest draw held on 18th July 2019, Prince Edward Island issued a total of 135 new invitations for the skilled migrants' Candidates in its Express Entry Labor impact and business impact draw. The invitation was issued under the province's immigrant nominee program, the PEI PNP.
Prince Edward Island, also known as PEI conceded as one out of nine Canada provinces which take part in Canada's Provincial Nominee Program (PNP). The PNP programs intake highly skilled foreign workers, international graduates and entrepreneurs to apply for Canada Permanent Residency visa.
The Canadian PEI PNP's Express Entry program is also connected with the Federal Express Entry Program which allows nominating Federal Skilled Worker Class, Federal Skilled Trades Class, and Canadian Experience Class to apply for Canada Permanent Residency Visa.
The good part for candidates who are in Federal Express Entry system and receive provincial nomination gets additional 600 points towards their Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) and will surely get an invitation to apply for permanent residency.
On the other hand, PEI's Labor Impact Category is not linked with the Express Entry system. PEI's Labor Impact Category is divided into three streams - Skilled Workers (in PEI and outside Canada), International Graduates and Critical Workers.
The applicants who are willing to apply for these streams must be working in PEI or have an eligible full time, a long-term job offer from the employer of the same province and should also meet the other eligibility criteria set by the Canadian immigration department.
The eligibility for the applicants who are invited through the province's Entrepreneur, work permit stream must get the letter of support from the PEI PNP first for a temporary work permit. The applicants who meet the eligibility criteria of business performance agreement then receive provincial nomination to apply for Canada permanent residency.
Expression of Interest
To start your Canada immigration process for immigration to PEI through Express Entry, Labor impact or Business impact categories, the applicant needs to first submit an Expression of Interest to the PEI PNP.
Eligible applicants for each of the category are entered into a pool where they are selected on the bases of the score determined by the Canadian immigration points system.
The Candidates with higher-ranked score are then invited to apply through monthly draws from each pool.
The PEI PNP does not detail the minimum score for Express Entry and Labor Impact candidates in its latest draw. The minimum score for the Business impact applicants was 112.
