PEI PNP Issues 130 ITAs Across Its Various Skilled Categories

Posted On: Sun, Apr 28 2019

The province of Prince Edward Island issued new invitations to Express Entry candidates and others in the latest draw conducted at 18 April 2019. A total of 130 invitations were issued to candidates in PEI's Express Entry, Labour Impact, and Business Impact Immigration categories. A total of invitations issued so far this year by the Prince Edward Island Provincial Nominee Program has reached 570.

Out of 130 invitations, 113 Express Entry and Labour Impact Candidates received an invitation to apply in the current draw to apply for Prince Edward Island's provincial nominee program.

Prince Edward Island's Express Entry category is linked to the federal Express Entry System that manages the pool of candidates for three of Canada's main economic immigration categories-the Federal Skilled Worker Program, Federal Skilled Trade Program, and Canadian Experience Class. The Express Entry applicants would be considered for a provincial nomination from PEI must first complete a separate Expression of Interest (EOI) profile with PEI PNP. The successful provincial nominations were awarded an additional 600 points towards their overall Express Entry ranking score.

On the other hand, PEI’s Labour Impact Category is not aligned with the Express Entry system and is divided into three EOI-based streams- Skilled Workers in PEI and outside Canada, International Graduates and Critical Workers.

Applicants for these streams must be working in PEI or have an eligible full-time job offer letter from a PEI employer and other conditions. The other 17 Entrepreneur Candidates were invited through the Business Impact category and also, Work Permit Stream can now apply to the PEI PNP for a letter of support for a temporary work permit.

The work permit stream also invites applicants on an EOI basis. The lowest-ranked candidate in the April 18 draw had a score of 107.

Canada Immigration offers various PR programs that an applicant may elect to come and settle in the country on a permanent basis.
