Ontario Issues 75 Invitations Through Express Entry Linked Streams

So far, 1165 invitations issued through Skilled Trades and French-Speaking Skilled Worker Stream in 2018. Ontario has invited 75 express entry candidates to apply for provincial nomination program under its skilled trades and French Speaking Skilled Worker Streams. The seventh Ontario invitation round was conducted on May 16 and 17 for the two streams since the end of March.

The Ontario Immigration Nominee Program (OINP) said the 45 Express Entry candidates who received invitation to apply through Skilled Trades Stream had submitted their Express Entry Profiles between January 1, 2018 and May 16, 2018.

The 30 candidates who received invitation to apply through French-speaking skilled worker stream submitted their express entry profiles between January 1, 2018 and May 17, 2018.

Both these streams do not require a minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score and Express Entry applicants who are nominated by Ontario receive an additional 600 points towards their CRS score.

The total number of 697 Notifications of interest (NOIs) has already been issued by Ontario since January 2028 under Skilled Trades Stream.  Additionally, 438 Express Entry Candidates have received NOIs through the French Speaking Skilled Worker Stream this year. Also, 2857 Express Entry candidates have been invited to apply under Ontario’s Human Capital Priorities Stream.

Ontario will continue to issue NOIs to the candidates in the Federal Express Entry pool who qualify for one of Ontario’s Express Entry Streams on a regular basis.The skilled trade stream is for those skilled workers who qualify for the Canadian Experience Class and have work experience in an eligible skilled trade having a valid Express Entry profile.

The French speaking skilled worker stream was introduced  in 2015 to attract French speaking express entry candidates who qualify either Federal Skilled Worker Class or the Canadian Experience Class having sufficient English language requirement (CLB 6 or higher).

The Express Entry candidates who received NOIs have 45 day time period to submit an online application to OINP.
