The new Express Entry draw was conducted on February 20, 2019, where 3,350 invitations to apply for Canadian Permanent Residence were issued. The minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score for this current draw was 457. This means applicants with CRS 457 and above were invited to apply by the Canadian Government.
The IRCC applied break-even rule in this current draw where the break date and time were December 6, 2018, at 12:38:11 UTC. This means that all candidates with a CRS score 457 and above who have submitted their profiles before the submitted date and time were given invitations in this draw.
The CRS 457 for this current draw is an increase of 19 points from the previous draw on January 30.
The increase in CRS score can be constituted to more time gap between the previous draws, which can have the effect of increasing cut-off score. If we compare the draw results of January 30, they were held just one week after the previous invitation round on January 23.
The Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) has now issued a total of 14,500 invitations to apply (ITA) in 2019 which remains the biggest start to a year since the Express Entry system’s introduction in 2015.
The total number of ITAs issued so far is 70 percent increase of the invitations issued in 2018- a year that saw IRCC issued 89,800 Express Entry ITAs.
The Express Entry System manages the pool of applicants under Canada’s three federal skilled immigration programs- The Federal Skilled Worker Program, Federal Skilled Trade Program, and The Canadian Experience Class.
