Manitoba Issues 626 Invitations Across Various MPNP Streams In First 2019 Draw

The province of Manitoba issued a total of 626 invitations on January 17 for provincial nomination for permanent residence in its first draw of the New Year. The applicants under Skilled Workers Overseas, Skilled Workers in Manitoba and International Education streams were issued invitation to apply for a provincial nomination in this current draw.
Under Skilled Workers Overseas Stream, a total of 394 Letters of Advice to Apply (LAA) were given including an unspecified number to Express Entry candidates who have registered an Expression of Interest profile with Manitoba Provincial Nomination Program.
The MPNP also issued LAAs to Skilled Workers Overseas candidates with a close relative residing in Manitoba or having work experience in Manitoba. The selected applicants were also required to have at least six months of recent work experience in an occupation that is in-demand in Manitoba and meet the minimum language proficiency benchmark. The applicants with a lowest-ranked score of 575 and above were invited in this current draw.
Additionally, 27 Skilled Workers Overseas applicants were invited through a Strategic Recruitment Initiative. The minimum score for applicants invited through a strategic Recruitment Initiative was 729.
All the Express Entry candidates with LAA in this draw were required to have a valid Express Entry id and job seeker validation code and at least six months of recent experience in-demand occupation.
The selected candidates with a provincial nomination receive an additional 600 points towards their Express Entry ranking score that further boosts the immigration chances.
Manitoba’s Express Entry pathway is linked to the federal Express Entry system, which manages the pool of candidates for Canada’s three Federal High Skilled Economic Immigration Programs.
LAAs issued to Skilled Workers in Manitoba and International Education Stream
The MPNP invited 232 candidates in the MPNP’s Skilled Workers in Manitoba and International Education streams. The MPNP issued 200 LAAs to Skilled Workers in Manitoba candidates with scores as low as 650.
The skilled workers in Manitoba Stream is for eligible qualified temporary foreign workers and international student graduates who are currently working in Manitoba and have been offered a permanent job with their Manitoba employer.
Meanwhile, another 32 invitations went to International Education Stream candidates.
