Manitoba invites 1030 skilled workers overseas in the latest Manitoba PNP draw

In its 161st Expression of Interest draw, MPNP issued 1,030 Letters of Advice to Apply with the lowest ranking score of 600 points. This draw was conducted on 15th December 2022. Manitoba held its previous MPNP draw on 1st December 2022 inviting 305 individuals from different categories.

Expressions of Interest (EOI) profiles must be created by everyone interested in applying to the Skilled Workers Stream.

Every year, a certain number of nominations are sent to the Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP) by Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC). To fill the whole allotment of nomination slots through the EOI draws, the MPNP requests a correspondingly large number of applications. Only the number of nominations allocated in a particular year can be approved by the MPNP at a time.

The MPNP has a 6, 367-application capacity for 2022. Based on stream priority and the highest-ranking points at the time of a certain EOI draw, the MPNP provides Letters of Advice to Apply (LAAs).

Things to consider:

Candidate selection was limited to those with a valid Manitoba work permit and employment in a regulated industry. Candidates who are genuinely employed in a regulated occupation and/or do not provide documentation proving they have completed all stages required for Manitoba employment licensure will not be accepted or rejected by the MPNP. You might want to consider turning down your letter of recommendation if this applies to you.

If you have taken an approved third-party language test to demonstrate your proficiency in English or French but have not provided a valid Test Number in your EOI or if your language test no longer exists, or if you have indicated that you have been invited to apply to the MPNP under a Strategic Recruitment Plan but have achieved a higher score than the lowest-ranking candidate, this could be the case.

For each question in the EOI, there are detailed instructions on what data should be provided.

How to apply for Manitoba PNP?

There are three steps in Manitoba's Expression of Interest (EOI) system.

Creating an online profile and responding to a series of questions allows prospective immigrants to demonstrate an interest in moving to Manitoba. As a result of the responses, qualified candidates receive a score, and their profiles are added to the Manitoba EOI pool with the other qualified candidates. The unique MPNP Ranking Points method is used to rank candidates, and each candidate is given a score out of a possible 1,000 points.

The top candidates may receive invitations to apply to the MPNP. A Letter of Advice to Apply is given to the candidate selected from the pool of EOIs (LAA). An accurate and complete application must be submitted to the Manitoba government within 60 days of receiving an LAA.

A candidate submits the necessary documentation to IRCC and applies for Canadian permanent residence after receiving a nomination from the Manitoba government.
