Manitoba Conducts New EOI 20 June Draw Under Different Categories

The province of Manitoba issued 450 invitations to candidates for a provincial nomination in an Expression of Interest draw held June 20 for Canadian Permanent Residence. The invitations also are known as Letters of Advice to Apply (LAAs) were issued under Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program- skilled workers in Manitoba, Skilled Workers Overseas and International Education Streams categories.

Out of 450 LAAs issued in this current draw, 323 LAAs were given to Skilled Workers Overseas, 101 LAAs were given to Skilled Workers in Manitoba and 26 LAAs were given to International Education Stream. The June 20 draw brings the total number of LAAs issued to skilled worker candidates in 2019 to 4,979Of the 323 LAAs under Skilled Workers Overseas, 133 LAAs were issued to the Express Entry candidates having a valid job seeker validation code and an experience in an occupation on Manitoba’s in-demand occupations list. The selected candidates with a provincial nomination receive an additional 600 points towards their overall Comprehensive Ranking System score.

The skilled workers overseas were invited with EOI 599 points. The other Skilled Workers Overseas who received an LAA in the June 20 had the following criteria:

  • Had a close relative residing in Manitoba or past education or work experience in Manitoba;
  • Had at least 6 months of recent experience in an occupation on Manitoba in-demand occupation list
  • Minimum language proficiency of CLB/NCLC 5 unless work experience is primarily in a regulated occupation

The other 35 LAAs were issued to candidates directly through one of the MPNP’s Strategic Recruitment initiatives to the applicants with EOI 704 score.

The skilled workers in Manitoba were invited with EOI score 475 for provincial nomination.

Thus, the applicants willing to apply for Manitoba Immigrant Nominee Program must first create an expression of interest profile by mentioning their education, work experience, language ability, connections to Manitoba, among other details.

The applicants with the highest scores are invited through regular draws from Manitoba’s EOI pool.
