Express Entry 2023 first draw invites 5,500 on 507 CRS score.

The first Express Entry draw in Canada since November 23 was held today. It was the first of the year.

5,500 applicants with a minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of 507 received invites from Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC). Federal Skilled Workers Program (FSWP), Canadian Experience Class (CEC), and Federal Skilled Trades Program (FSTP) candidates who met the requirements were invited to apply. The Express Entry mechanism is used by all of these programs.

The number of ITAs given in this draw has increased, making it the biggest all-program Express Entry lottery since they commenced in July of last year. There were 750 more invitations sent out than the 4,750 candidates who were invited to the draw on November 23, and the CRS score was higher than it has been since the lottery on September 28.

New Immigration Goals for 2023 to 2025

Many are turning to immigration as a solution to the severe labor market shortages that have forced them to make this decision. The 2023–2025 plan supports immigration as a tactic for aiding employers in filling positions. It also attempts to draw candidates with the abilities needed to fill essential positions in industries including technology, manufacturing, health care, and skilled trades. In the decades to come, this will aid in managing Canada's social and economic difficulties.

Each year over the next three years, there will be more immigrants coming to Canada. By 2023, Canada hopes to have 465,000 new immigrants living there. In 2024, 485,000 new immigrants are a new aim. And it will increase once more to 500,000 additional immigrants in 2025. To meet these goals and welcome immigrants nationwide, Express Entry drawings will be essential.

As part of the new strategy, the Provincial Nominee Program, the Atlantic Immigration Program, and the Rural and Northern Immigration Pilot will be expanded to meet the needs of specific local labor markets.

Express Entry conducted 23 draws in 2022 and granted 46,538 ITAs throughout that time. This includes the first half of the year, during which there were no other program drawings held other than PNP draws.
