Canada Parents And Grandparents Program (PGP) Update Of March 2020

Posted On: Mon, Mar 30 2020

Due to recent focus to COVID-19 outbreak, IRCC (Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada) delays accepting new applications for Parents and Grandparents Program (PGP) in 2020. The opening of the annual call of EOI (expression of Interest) to apply was expected in the coming weeks.

As per present situations, Canada prioritizes its efforts to contribute the whole government to the response of COVID-19 pandemic. It is to be noted that the temporary deferral of the opening of 2020 calls for these applications will not be impacted when the parents and grandparents will enter Canada and the overall processing time for these applications remains to continue.

The Canadian Government is strongly committed to the family reunification program and thus, IRCC will soon open the PGP program.
