British Columbia Express Entry Nominations Report 2018Posted On: Mon, Nov 25 2019
The province of British Columbia nominated 3,100 candidates in the federal Express Entry System for Canadian permanent residence in 2018 under British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program (BC PNP).
The reports provided by CIC News by the BC PNP show the majority of these nominations were issued through the Express Entry BC under skilled worker category. The total of 1,999 invitations was given in this category.
Another 936 nominations were issued through the Express Entry British Columbia: International Graduate Category and 165 were given to the International Post-Graduate category.
Express Entry system is managed under three skill migration categories namely Federal Skilled Worker Program, Federal Skilled Trade Program and Canadian Experience Class.
British Columbia’s EEBC categories allow the BC PNP to select eligible Express Entry applicants and nominate them for the permanent residence. The provincial nomination enables the applicants to receive 600 additional points towards the overall immigration point score.
To apply for BC PNP, an applicant requires a full-time, permanent job offer in the province in order to become eligible for the EEBC: Skilled Worker Category and EEBC: International Graduate category.
However, a job offer is not a mandatory requirement when applying through EEBC: International Post-Graduate category which is open to international graduates of eligible BC Universities.
The provincial streams under British Columbia issued a total of 3,339 nominations in 2018 out of which 1699 went to candidates in the skills Immigration: Skilled Worker Category.
Other 61 nominations were issued through the BC PNP’s Entrepreneur Immigration Stream. The total allocations of 6,500 nominations were decided for Canada’s British Columbia Provincial Nomination.
