Alberta Conducts Two New Express Entry Draws With CRS As Low As 352
Posted On: Wed, Aug 14 2019
The Alberta Province conducted new Express Entry draw for 354 candidates to apply for a provincial nomination in two draws held July 31 and August 7. The July 31 draw issued 319 Notifications of Interest (NOIs) to express entry candidates with Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of 400 and above. Whereas, the first draw of August issued only 35 NOIs to the candidates with CRS score of 352 and above.
The NOIs were issued through Alberta Express Entry stream which allows the Alberta Immigrant Nominee Program (AINP) to search federal Express Entry system for the candidates who meet the eligibility requirements and invite them to apply for a provincial nomination for permanent residence.
Since the inception of Alberta Express Entry Stream last year, the AINP has held 27 draws. A total of 5,382 NOIs have been already given to foreign nationals to settle in Alberta.
Well, no specification was mentioned while inviting candidates in this current draw. However, the AINP prioritizes candidates with:
- A job offer and/or work experience in Alberta
- A Canadian post-secondary degree and a valid job offer, or
- A parent, child, or sibling living in Alberta
To apply for the Alberta Immigrant Nominee Program through Express Entry Stream, it is not necessary to have a job offer/ previous work experience from Alberta. Applicants should be working in an occupation that supports the province's economic development and diversification priorities.
The selected Express Entry candidates receive provincial nomination with an additional 600 CRS points to apply for Canadian Permanent residence from the Government of Canada.
