What is Express Entry Points System?

To apply for Express entry, a candidate crs score points which make them eligible for the invitation to apply for a permanent resident visa. The candidate scores points on the basis of their Age, education, skills, work experience, employment potential, language proficiencies etc. The highest scoring candidates are given a priority while receiving an invitation to apply for a Canadian PR from the Express Entry pool. How Does This Point System or Canada CRS System Work?

Comprehensive Ranking Score (CRS) is a unique tool used by Citizenship & Immigration Canada to calculate the points scored by the applicants on the basis of credentials such as Age, Educational qualifications, language proficiency, adaptability, work experience and skills etc. CIC uses this tool to find the most suitable candidates who can live and contribute to the Canadian economy. This tool has been given a name of Canada Point Calculator.

The candidates enter a pool of Express Entry and are ranked according to their CRS scored by 'Canada Express Entry Points Calculator'. The highest scoring candidates are given priority and are given an invitation for Canada Permanent resident status.

"As on June 6, 2017 the CIC has introduced new changes through which a candidate may get the additional points. Now, a candidate can get the additional points if:"

  • He/she has sibling(s) in Canada (15 points)
  • If you prove French ability (15 or 30 points)
  • You have a job offer from Canadian employer (200 points)

The Comprehensive Ranking System Ranks Eligible Candidates for Immigration to Canada Through Express Entry Under the Following Components:

  • Core human capital factors(Maximum Points 460)
  • Accompanying spouse or common-law partner factors (Maximum Points 40)
  • With a valid job offer (Maximum 200 points)
  • Additional points relating to Provincial Nomination or a qualifying offer of arranged employment (Maximum Points 600)

Note: CIC has not fixed any minimum score for Express Entry through CRS, only high scored candidates in a draw will be selected for Invitation to Apply (ITA).

Citizenship & Immigration Canada (CIC) declared the latest express entry draw on 15th May for the year 2019 which welcomes 500 candidates for the CRS points score of 332. Candidates scoring 500 CRS or higher than that will receive their ITA or nomination certificate and will be eligible to file their application for a Canada permanent resident card to IRCC (Immigration, Refugees & Citizenship Canada).
