General Program Requirements for BC PNP Express Entry:

In order to receive the priority processing of your permanent residence application you are supposed to meet the general EEBC requirements:

  • Fulfill at least one of the federal economic immigration programs requirements aligned with Express Entry system
  • Must have a valid Express Entry profile number and a job seeker validation code
  • Indicate your interest in applying to the BC PNP under an EEBC category
  • Meet the minimum criteria for both the relevant BC PNP category as well as one of the eligible federal economic immigration programs

The BC PNP Skills Immigration stream is an economic immigration option intended for people with the skills, experience, and qualifications needed by B.C. employers. This stream is designed for individuals who are committed to living and work in B.C. and become permanent residents of Canada. To be eligible for the program, you will need to satisfy the criteria in one of the following categories:

Please note that all EEBC categories except EEBC- International Post-Graduate require a valid job offer that must be full-time employment from a B.C. employer. You will be asked to enter important information regarding education, work experience, language ability, and many more.

Minimum Income Requirements for Express Entry:

The minimum income requirements should be demonstrated according to yours:

  • The annual wage in B.C
  • Location of residence in B.C
  • number of dependents

The province of BC PNP does not consider bonuses, commissions, profit-sharing distributions, tips/gratuities, overtime wages, housing allowances, room, and board or other similar payments to be part of your wage.

Language Requirement for BC Express Entry:

The minimum language requirement criteria are similar to one of the federal economic programs. The language tests accepted by the IRCC are:

  • The International English Language Testing System (IELTS) General Training
  • The Canadian English Language Proficiency Index Program (CELPIP- General)
  • Test d'évaluation de français (TEF)

British Columbia: Skill Immigration

To successfully apply for Skill Immigration, it is mandatory to meet the program requirements. There are program requirements for each stage of the process including the registration, application and nomination stages.

Fulfill the criteria in one of the following categories:

  • Skill Immigration- Skilled Workers that consists of managers, professionals and skilled tradespeople
  • Skill Immigration- Healthcare Professional- Physicians, registered nurses and other allied health care workers employed with provincial health authorities

Language Requirement-Skills Immigration

To apply for BC PNP Skills Immigration, you must obtain a minimum score equal or greater than a benchmark 4 under the Canadian Language Benchmark in all four sections namely reading, writing, listening and speaking.

The acceptable Language Tests for Skill Immigration are:

  • The International English Language Testing System (IELTS) General Training
  • The Canadian English Language Proficiency Index Program (CELPIP- General)

Please note that only registration in the Skills Immigration system is not an application to the Skills Immigration stream and does not guarantee that you will be invited to apply.

You will not be invited to apply for BC PNP if you are:

  • Prohibited from entering Canada
  • In Canada but visa expired
  • Working in Canada without authorization
  • Have a resolved refugee claim in Canada
  • Are under a removal order in or outside of Canada
