Introduction to Queensland Immigration Program

Eligibility criteria for Subclass Visa 190 Offshore

The Skilled Nominated visa (Subclass 190) is applied for skilled and qualified workers to live and work in Queensland on a permanent basis. In order to be eligible for nomination by Queensland, the applicants are required to meet some of the basic eligibility criteria for your chosen visa category:

  • The Candidates must be invited to apply under the Subclass 190 visa
  • The Candidates must be under 45 years of age to apply for Queensland Nomination.
  • The Candidates must have 65 immigration points or higher to apply for Subclass 190.
  • The Candidates must nominate their occupation that match their skills and qualifications and fall on (MLTSSL) Medium and Long-term Strategic Skills List or (STSOL) Short-term Skilled Occupation List
  • The Candidates must attain a positive skill assessment in their nominated occupation.
  • The Candidates must have at least Competent English language requirement.
  • The Candidates must meet the health and character requirements

Eligibility criteria for Subclass 491 Offshore

The Regional Subclass 491 visa is applicable for skilled workers to stay and work in designated regional areas or territory of Queensland permanently. In order to be eligible for nomination by Queensland, the applicants are required to meet the Australian Department of Home Affairs criteria for your selected visa category:

  • The Candidates must be invited to apply by designated regional areas of Queensland.
  • The Candidates must be under 45 years of age when you are invited to apply for Queensland Nomination
  • The Candidates must have 65 immigration points or higher to apply for Subclass 491 visa.
  • The Candidates must attain a positive skill assessment in their nominated occupation.
  • The Candidates have to meet the minimum Competent English language requirement, unless a higher level is required by assessing authority
  • The Candidates must nominate their occupation that matches their skills and qualifications and fall under (MLTSSL) Medium and Long-term Strategic Skills List or (STSOL) Short-term Skilled Occupation list.
  • The Candidates must be sponsored by state or territory government or by eligible relative of Queensland.
  • The Candidates must submit their additional documents if they are invited to lodge an application for the Subclass 491 visa category.
  • The Candidates must meet the health and character requirements.

Key Requirement to Apply for Queensland Immigration

This stream is for migrants who are currently living and working in Queensland in their skilled occupation or closely related occupation. Nominations are offered under Subclass 190 Visa and skilled nominated provisional visa (489)
