Expression Of Interest (EOI) is the way of intimidating the Australian Government about your willingness to live and work in Australia as a General Skilled Migrant. EOI is not a visa and thus, no fee is charged.”
Any applicant who is willing to apply for General Skilled Migration Programs is required to apply through SkillSelect. This means, if you are a skilled worker from overseas migrating to Australia should use SkillSelect to create an expression of interest account. An EOI is not a visa application and thus, there is no fee to create or submit an EOI in SkillSelect.
SkillSelect is thus, the Australian government’s new online system which allows skilled workers interesting in moving to Australia to be considered for a skilled Australian visa.
In order to apply for Australia PR, skilled workers will need to submit an EOI Australia through SkillSelect.
An Expression of Interest (EOI) is an indication to the Australian Government that you would like to apply for permanent residency as a skilled worker. The EOI asks the following information:
An Expression of Interest to apply for Australian Immigration is processed via system called SkillSelect. This is an online process and
by registering an EOI on SkillSelect, the skilled workers will be visible to the Australian government and employers who can be given nomination by them. Once selected, you will be then invited to apply for an Australian visa.
After EOI completion, you will be a given a points score and ranked according to the information given in your EOI profile. If eligible, you will be invited through regular DIBP invitation round results. You will have 60 days to apply for Australia PR, after which the invitation will expire.
However, the total validity of the Expression of Interest Profile is 2 years, during which time you are able to update your EOI with any important information. Please note that incomplete EOIs will also be stored in the pool for 2 years, though you will not be able to receive an invitation through them.
No, you do not have to submit supporting documents when creating an expression of interest for Australian Immigration. The documents are required at the later stages of the Australia PR process
You can access your EOI and update information at any time before receiving an Invitation to Apply (ITA). The Australian Government advises you to update details on a regular basis if there is any change in the circumstances.
You may update your EOI if:
Important update: Any false or misleading information on your EOI, may result in cancellation or rejection of the EOI Australia
There are two possible outcomes of EOI if get successful and they are:
• You receive an invitation to apply for a visa
• An Australian employer contacts you to discuss employment and sponsorship opportunities
The highest ranking EOIs applicants are then invited to apply for Australia PR under independent and skilled regional provisional visa subclass. The DIBP conducts draws at regular intervals and are subject to occupation ceilings.
For Australia State/Territory visa subclass nomination the respective state individually contacts the migrants for nomination.
Your Expression of Interest will remain in SkillSelect for a maximum of two years and till that time, if you don’t receive any ITA, your EOI profile will vanish and in such a case, you must re-apply with new EOI profile.
Your Expression of Interest profile is now visible to Australian immigration department and whenever the department requires skilled workers of your profile, the draws will be conducted. However, till that time you can still access your expression of interest to update or suspend
A point-based permanent system is followed to invite skilled and qualified workers where an applicant must score at least 65 points out of 100 on Australia Point Assessment Grid for the factors namely age, educational qualification, work experience, language ability, and other factors.You may check your score using australia point score
