Australia Introduced Further Changes To Aid Applicants Who Applied Under Family Visa Program

[Published Mon, Nov 30 2020]

As per the recent Australia Immigration news, on November 30, 2020, the Australian Government has introduced further changes for the applicants who submitted their application under the Family Visa program. These further changes have been made to give major support and assistance to the Family visa applicants that were previously impacted by the ongoing pandemic. The temporary concession has been made to allow applicants to remain in Australia so that they can progress their visa application under the following family class subclasses such as:

  • Partner Visa subclass 309
  • Prospective Marriage Subclass 300 visa
  • Child visa subclass 101
  • Adoption visa subclass 102
  • Dependent Child visa subclass 445

Certain arrangements have been made for the applicants who have been impacted by the ongoing pandemic. The changes include providing visa holders the leverage to remain in Australia or continue with their family via application if they are unable to travel due to the international border restrictions.

Moreover, the Australian government has decided to grant visas to those applicants who applied under the Australia family sponsorship program from outside Australia, even if the candidate is in Australia. This temporary leverage is for the individuals who are in Australia and are not able to travel offshore due to the international border restrictions that have been set due to the corona outbreak.

It has been estimated by the Australian Government that about 4,000 applicants will be benefited from these changes, especially the partner applications. These changes are temporary and will be back in line once travel restrictions will be escalated.

Mr. Alan Tudge said that these common changes have been introduced to make sure that immigration programs are not impacted by the ongoing travel restrictions. Most importantly, these changes will be beneficial for a foreign national who is a partner of an Australian citizen so that they can easily progress the visa without having to leave the country.

It is good news for all the folks who had a concern that their loved one will have to leave the country with no certainty that when they will return back. This smart move of introducing further changes have been made so that the number of partner visa applications can be doubled in the year 2020-2021.
