What is the 189 visa and 491 visas all about?

The 189 visa is the skilled nominated visa which allows the immigrants to get settled in Australia on a permanent basis. For this, a candidate is required to receive a nomination from an Australian state or territory. Also, apart from receiving the nomination from the states, there are certain eligibility requirements that a client needs to fulfill!

On the other hand, the 491 visa is a provisional visa which allows the immigrants to reside and stay in the designated regional areas of Australia for a period of 5 years. The potential candidates who want to receive an invitation to live and work in the designated regional areas of Australia need to have either a nomination from an Australian state or a sponsorship from an eligible family member living in Australia either as a permanent resident or Australian citizen.

Both the visa subclasses are not permanent residency visas, a 190 visa is a permanent one, however, a 491 visa is a temporary one. The main thing about the 491 visa is that it can be converted into Australian PR if you complete the 5 year period in the designated regional areas of Australia. Good Luck!
