2020/2021 Financial Year Witnesses Its Last Skill Select Round

Much awaited out come for the financial year 2020/2021 bears witness to a drastic increase in count for various occupations. 

Data shows an increase of 81% in the invites where 660 invites were issued in all in the month of January and out of which 500 alone were for Visa Sub class 189 and the remaining 160 were for Visa Sub class 491. Where the minimum score for the initial rose up to 80 and later remained stable at 65.

Last Expression of Interest filled for Visa Sub class 491 was done in March 2021, while the last filling conducted for Visa Sub class 189 dates back to July 2019.

While certain potential sectors such as Finance, Programmers, System Annalists, Computer Network Professionals, etc. didn’t even chance a single invite. 

In accordance to the Occupation table, the ANZSCO codes which received invitations include:

  • 206 General Practitioners and Resident Medical officers;
  • 117 Registered Nurses;
  • 74 Mining Engineers;
  • 73 Industrial, Mechanical, and Production Engineers;
  • 41 Veterinarians (only recently added to the priority skilled migration list);
  • 22 Social Workers (the first invitations this financial year); and
  • 21 Other Engineering Professionals.

While numbered invitations were also extended to different medical fields such as Medical Imaging Professionals, Internal Medicine Specialists, Medical Laboratory Scientists, etc. Environmental Scientists, Other Natural and Physical Science Professionals, Psychologists, and Geologists/Geophysicists/Hydro geologists.

Little Heads up to those who could not make it to this list can expect the revision happening in the month of July where you can look up for new job opportunities while we transit to yet another financial year.
